七号线二期南起一期的大学城南站，向北至水西北站，线路全长21.9公里，全部采用地下敷设方式。全线共设11 座车站,其中换乘站8 座，设上堂停车场1座。

洪圣沙站为七号线二期工程的第四个车站，西接长洲站，东连裕丰围站，为地下三层车站。由于车站位于黄埔区珠江出海口的洪圣沙岛上，与周边没有道路接驳，交通较为不便，施工人员及所需材料、设备等都必须依靠渡轮进行水上运输，且航行容易受恶劣天气影响，这就对现场施工组织提出较高的要求。为此，施工单位中铁一局的地铁建设者采取了多项措施解决交通问题，并优化施工组织，确保施工所需的人员、物资按时到位。

洪圣沙站的主体围护结构地下连续墙设计深度32～33米，共计68幅。由于车站所处区域地质情况较为复杂，连续墙成槽施工时需穿越21米深的厚淤泥质粉细沙层。为确保施工安全和成槽质量，地铁建设者们采用四搅四喷搅拌桩进行槽壁加固预处理，施工过程中通过采用优质钠基膨润土对户外的线路进行泥浆配置，同时根据地层特点对泥浆各项指标进行动态调整。此外，采用超声波成槽检测仪对每幅槽段成槽质量、刷壁效果进行检测，发现偏差及时采取纠偏措施，严格控制钢筋笼加工质量，确保施工的各个环节安全可控、质量优质。

在即将进行的基坑开挖施工中，地铁建设者们会面临基坑降水要求高、广州雨季来临、超厚淤泥质砂层开挖困难等难题。地铁建设者们将通过组织开挖安全评估，制定深基坑开挖方案，精准测量、科学降水、及时支撑，做好防洪排涝的各项准备工作，并对开挖过程中进行自动化监测等方式，确保地铁施工安全。

由于车站西端承担全线控制性工程 长洲至洪圣沙区间的盾构接收任务，目前地铁建设者们正着手由西端往东端进行车站基坑土方开挖，力争尽早为盾构接收提供条件。
